Feministisk Festival 2018!

You are invited to Sweden's largest free of charge feminist event! The Feminist Festival 2018 takes place from 1-3 June. The program will soon be found at

For the fifth year, over 70 grassroots organizations, political parties, actors from cultural sector and other feminist groups have gathered to create an engaging program that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years. Together, will create workshops, engage in exciting conversations, share new knowledge, showcase cultural activities and gather inspiration.

Since the Festival launched in 2014, it has served as a critical community forum built on a number of basic principles that also form the foundation for this year's festival. These include:
-Participation in the Festival's program must be free for both organizations/presenters and for visitors/participants;
-Participation of cultural practitioners who would otherwise have limited access to a public platform should be encouraged;
-The Festival will spread knowledge about feminist issues;
-The Festival program will promote gender equality, principles of equality within society and spread love.

In 2018, we have decided to expressly introduce an anti-racist perspective to the Festival. There has been resounding support for the inclusion of this aspect in the Festival for several years and this being an election year in Sweden, it is now more important than ever for us to work together and against oppressive societal structures.

This has given rise to this year’s theme for the Festival:
Time to: Unite! Mobilize! Act!

The festival kicks off on Friday, 1st June with a culture night hosted at Panora, Malmo, which will include music, dance, movies, literary, etc. The festival will run on Saturday (2nd) and Sunday (3rd) with a total of over 70 participating organizations, workshops, seminars and much more. On Saturday night, we will also be throwing a massive dance party at Inkonst, Malmo with music, dancing and festive spirits.
