This is a one month design program teaching anyone, young and old from beginners to intermediate level on how to make a jacket or coat themselves - - from design to pattern making to sewing in one month or less!
After the program you will have learnt basic to intermediate pattern cutting and knowledge of reading patterns and drafts, taking measurements for patterns and improve sewing techniques as well as completing a ready to wear garment.
At the end of the program we will have a small showcase of all of the garments and samples made. The program will be coordinated by Smart Urhiofe, a menswear designer and artst from London with a BA in Menswear Design.
Materials provided as a kit to use (and for purchase to keep):
Pattern ruler (pattern master/French curve or a ruler with straight edges and curves), mechanical pencil, eraser, measuring tape, tailors chalk and pattern paper.
We have a few machines at STPLN but they'll need to be shared, so do keep in mind that work may need to be worked on independently at home some times. Fabrics not included.
PRICE: 1,200:- including use of materials
